News from Karl
Hello, everyone!!!!
Wow…it’s been a busy busy month! Some of the highlights:
A very fun week with a very cool bunch of people with Alarm Will Sound (www.alarmwillsound.com), culminating in a performance that you can see 9 minutes and 49 seconds of at my Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=kbllz
Lotsa fun with The Mac (www.themacmusic.com) in a competition at Whiskey Dick’s for Undiscovered Columbus. We ended up in the finals, losing by a narrow margin, but had a real blast doing it. A ton of people came out to support us, and lots of people voted for us to get into the finals, so thanks for that.
The release of Ten Years: Live at Byrne’s Pub, the best Knot Fibb’n recording ever made!!!! (http://members.aol.com/knotfibbn/cds.html) We had a great party at Byrne’s Pub, and also played at the Shamrock Club…both very much fun indeed!
And coming up:
Wednesday, October 31 from 7:30-9:30, I’ll again be at the Maca Cafe, 5 South Liberty Street in Powell. This is a great place to eat, a great place to drink, and the perfect environment for classical guitar. It’s a small place, so come early!!! Friday, November 2 at 9:30, I’ll be playing with The Mac (www.themacmusic.com) at the new Clevelander Pub and Grill, 6188 Cleveland Avenue in Westerville. This is a new venue for us, and it’d be great to fill it up so they ask us back! Randy Schwartz is our new bassist, and he’s great. Come help welcome him to the band!
Saturday, November 3 at 8:00, I’ll be at Otterbein College’s Riley Auditorium for a performance featuring the Guitar Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble (which I coach) and Otterbein’s rock ensemble, The Anticipations (coached by our good friend Eric Van Wagner (www.eveaudio.com). These concerts are always alot of fun, and if you’ve ever wondered what I do for my “joe job,” you can come find out!
Saturday, November 10 at 7:00, I’ll be joining my good friends, Halway Home (www.halfway-home.com) will be having their “official” CD release at Aerogipatica Books, 3150 North High Street. I engineered and co-produced their recording, “Better Days,” and even got to play on it, too. I’m so happy that I’ll be able to join them for the party!
Friday, November 16 at 8:00, The Mac will again be participating in an event for Undiscovered Columbus at Screamin’ Willies (www.sundancesaloon.net/) 1921 Channingway Center Drive. If we win this one, we’ll be the house band there for the month of December. It could be a HUGE opportunity!!!
Then we’ll all eat turkey.
I’ve been working to network my li’l ol’ self. See some of the links below…I’m blogging, all Youtubed, and even got a Facebook! I don’t even know what half of this crap is, but I don’t feel as old as I did yesterday
Also, thanks to Tim from KF for keeping my fashion line up to date:
